Pray Boldly!

So I threw out a little challenge to my Facebook following to do The 40 day prayer challenge with me! Mark Batterson is one of my favorite authors. I love his books and attending his church in Washington DC is a bucket list item for me! In 2011, when I read The Circle Maker, it radically changed my prayer life. Although I have to confess, I haven’t been consistent in circling everything in prayer. It’s crazy to even think that. I’ve seen God do crazy incredible things in my family, my business, my life when I just go to Him first, and pray circles around the situation. But what do you know, I get distracted and somehow miss the mark on going directly to the One who has it all under control.

After a phone call from a friend, that resulted in some bold prayers over her, I realized….it’s time to pull out the book and get intentional in this prayer life again. Now let me preface, I’m just a broken momma, entrepreneur, and wife, that knows I’m nothing without Jesus! I’m technically not qualified to lead anyone in any type of prayer challenge, but He doesn’t call the qualified, right? Lol! I struggle daily in my mommy, business, and wife duties. I naturally want to be a problem solver and “fixer” ,but as time goes on, I realize just how little control I truly have.

I’m by nature a fighter. I will fight to fix things on my own versus just submit and let God do the fixing. I also understand that to the world that knows me, my life looks like it’s picture perfect. My husband and I work our business from home. We are full time stay at home parents. We have 4 beautiful and amazing kids. We have a great marriage. We have zero financial stress. We have a beautiful home, on a beautiful piece of land. There is literally a Bible laid under the foundation of our home and scripture written on the framing all over our house. We give and we give BIG. We spend our days pouring into others. We have a great church we attend.

However, at the end of the day, the reality is…..we live in an evil world and there are literally battles that we have to face each and every day. Our children are growing up in an evil world and while we are fighting to protect them, they are being influenced in ways over which we have zero control. We are also continuously interacting with people who are living in this crazy world and fighting their own battles. As a result, those people can easily suck the life out of us. So needless to say, it’s exhausting at times. It’s frustrating, it’s defeating!

At the end of the day, we are once again reminded that our true peace and freedom can only be found in the One who came to give us life that we might fully live and that is Jesus!!! So, in my broken mess of myself, it’s time to once again, be intentional to circle the heck out of everything coming at me in this life, and pray boldly! I would love for you to join me, give feedback, and share as you pray through this journey called life!! I do encourage you to journal your prayers, because I know you will be able to look back on those prayers and see God working. Here it goes guys!! “If you pray to God regularly, irregular things will happen on an regular basis!”

I challenge you to pray with me. And PRAY boldly!
