We Are Thankful

I was asked today, “What’s one thing you’re thankful for?”  I was on a live call, so there was no time for hesitation.  I immediately said, “I’m thankful for where we are today!”

Let me elaborate.  Yesterday was one of those days where in the midst of the chaos, I was able to stop for a second and think about a few things.  The school my kids attend, who they’re around every day, the environment they’re in, where we live, the options we’ve created for our family, etc.  It was one of those days that ended with a lot of, “Thank you God for making it so clear as to what we needed to do!”

You see….where we are today has been made possible by the decisions we’ve made and a lot of those decisions were made years ago.  We had no idea they would necessarily lead us to where we are today, we just knew it was what we were supposed to do. Some of those decisions blew our family’s minds. Some sparked a lot of negativity.  Some even caused us to lose friendships. However, with each decision, something told us we were moving in the right direction.  Through prayer and even lots of tears and frustration, we pressed on and the culmination of those decisions have led us to where we are today.

Let’s just chat about this for a moment.  We’ve all heard the phrase, “You are where you are because of the decisions that you’ve made.” This little truth can be a really good thing, or it can be a really bad thing.  There have certainly been times in my life where I was in a horrible place, and yes, it was because I had put myself there.  It was no ones fault other than my own.  However, thank God for second chances and grace!!  Isn’t it awesome that we can literally change the direction of our lives with one simple decision, and then that one simple decision leads to another and another??

Believe me when I say, “Our life is far from perfect.”  We face challenges every day as a family and in business. However, I can also honestly say I am so thankful for bold prayers, scary risks, and tough decisions that have led us to exactly where we are today!

Thank you God for grace, second chances, and strength to take these bold leaps of faith when the world is against it!  Thank you for always knowing what is best for me when I have no clue! Thank you for taking care of my family and once again thank you for where we are today!!!

What are you thankful for? I’d love to hear from you.
